On Veterans Day, we pause to remember those who’ve served — and to celebrate the freedoms their sacrifices protect. This year, Cold Fire Signs had the distinct honor of creating a custom wall mural that serves as a lasting tribute to our veterans. Located inside a local facility dedicated to supporting military members and their families, this immersive mural is more than just a visual display — it’s a powerful space of recognition, pride, and reflection.
Designing with Purpose
From the beginning, our goal was to craft a mural that told a story — one of service, unity, and resilience. Anchored by a bold American flag backdrop, the full-color vinyl mural features silhouettes of a soldier and military working dog — symbols of courage and loyalty.
But this wasn’t just about printing a beautiful image on a wall. This mural blends high-resolution wall graphics with custom 3D signage components:
- Raised dimensional lettering for each military branch
- Mounted placards and shadow boxes displaying memorabilia and commendations
- Backlit elements and accent lighting to draw focus and create depth
- An honor wall showcasing a folded American flag and legacy awards
- These details were intentionally layered to evoke both visual impact and emotional weight — a space where visitors can pause, honor, and remember.
Materials That Match the Mission
To meet the client’s vision, we used premium print vinyl with a protective laminate for durability and color vibrancy, especially under bright indoor lighting. The 3D elements were precision cut from layered acrylic and custom-finished wood, carefully mounted to create a seamless integration with the printed mural beneath. Lighting was strategically installed to highlight each feature — from the service seals to the symbolic “boots on the ground” imagery at the base.
